New furniture.

We drove over to Glen's Furniture at Broken Bow OK. I must say that I was terribly disappointed. All I had ever heard was how great Glen's was. They had a fantastic selection. Nope!!! It is an old warehouse with a very limited selection of sofas and chairs. They did have a few barstools upstairs. We bought 3 Arrow Bow-Backed oak barstools.
We stopped at Papa Poblanos in Idabel for lunch. David had Enchilada & Taco. I had the Mini Quesadilla. Gosh! That was good!!!! I LOVE Mexican food!!!!
We decided to drive over to Texarkana to see if we could find a sofa. Ivan Smith on TX Blvd had a sofa, but we wanted to look around a bit more. Hank's Fine Furniture across from Lowe's had just what we were looking for!!! They will deliver it to the cabin Friday the 30th. It will be wrapped in plastic, so it will be protected until we're ready to start moving in.

New light over bar.

Good grief! That took a while!!! We are not electricians!!!! But I like it much better than the other lights. We had to stand on the bar to get it all connected. It's a bit too short, but we can live with it. We're going to wait til tomorrow to put up the other one.

Cabinet/Dresser/Closet

I have it painted. It's ready for Brian to put the doors on and get the drawer fronts attached. Oh! No! I haven't gotten the drawer fronts finished. That will have to wait til next week. Brian is bringing the rest of the cabinets out next week. Have I already said that??? Sorry. ;-) My memory is not so good.

After sunrise.

I've posted this on Facebook, but wanted it here, also. This morning, about 8:00, I happened to walk by our front door, and looked out to see these absolutely gorgeous clouds. Immediately, I grabbed the closest camera, which happened to be the iPhone. Amazingly, it takes some darn good pictures.
I'm not doing much down at the cabin. We're keeping our youngest granddaughter this weekend. I need to get a few things picked up around the house. Laundry to do, too. David's getting his long weekend this time. Monday we're going to Glen's furniture to look at sofas. From all I've heard about Glen's, they have a large selection. We're wanting something that can be used as another bed. Since the cabin has only one bedroom, we need a sofa sleeper of some sort.

A break from painting.

I decided I needed to do something physical this afternoon. Two or three hours pulling vines out of a chain link fence makes me sweat and turns my face red. But I feel so much better. Maybe not tomorrow, but sometime in the next week, David and I will get out there to tackle the gate. I'll take a photo from the other side. There are trees growing there.

Dark clouds.

Maybe we'll get some rain this afternoon. The wind has been blowing all day.

Gate covered with vines.

We haven't used this gate in years. But now that we are getting close to finishing the cabin we want to get this one cleaned out and the driveway ready to use. We have the driveway by the cabin, but neither of us like it that much. Besides, it's hard for delivery trucks to get in and out. I added a photo looking down it.
We've had to put up "Posted" signs because of a neighbor, and others, driving through there and up into our yard on four wheelers. I suppose they forgot how to read. Or maybe they just need glasses??? LOL!!!

Butterfly, trees & clouds.

It's about 80^ again. I've put Weed & Feed on most of our yard. We might have more grass burrs & weeds than grass.
This is the first year in quite a while that I haven't had a horrible case of pollen related upper respiratory crud. So, I can enjoy the new leaves on the oak trees that are all around our property. There are more clouds today. But I noticed on the weather radar that there is something coming this way from down in Texas. We could use a little rain to wash the pollen off everything.

View from back porch.

It's 80^ here in SW Arkansas. Feels great. I'm painting strips of moulding to go between the cabinets and wall. I didn't have Brian put plywood on the cabinet backs, so I have a nice half inch gap to fill. For any of you who may be getting new cabinets... Have your builder put plywood on the backs.
While I've been at the front porch painting and sanding, there have been lots of boats running up and down the river channel. I guess there's fish biting out there somewhere. It's definitely a gorgeous day to be outside!!!

Shower parts.

Ok. It's not a lot. But it's more than was there this morning. We can't finish installing the master bath shower until I order the part that will keep the escutcheon plate in place. Not sure if it was in the box or not. It's only been two years since I ordered all the fixtures. Not too bad. Only one piece is missing.
More tomorrow. Hopefully, Brian will bring the rest of the cabinets out here. I want to get everything painted and installed in the next two weeks.

Azaleas starting to bloom.

This is just the beginning. In a few days these three shrubs will be covered in pink blooms. It makes me smile!

Faucet and sprayer installed!

The plumber and helper just left. It took them 5 & 1/2 hours. He said it was the hardest one he's installed. It had to be soldered and it was hard to get under the end of the tub. I hate to think what we would have done, if we'd tried it. We do know our limitations. LOL!!!
I'm putting polyurethane on the cabinet that goes in the bathroom and the drawers for the bedroom. Will post a pic of that later.

Jacuzzi repair...

No. We haven't put water on it. As I was cleaning all the drywall mud & paint out of the tub, I found a small slit in the bottom. Oh! Yes! Mad does not describe what I felt!!! Apparently, my carpenter, or the tile guy, dropped a knife or box cutter in the tub. Somehow, they forgot to tell me about it. :-(
I called Jacuzzi to get a repair kit. They gave me a number to call. Multi Tech. 800-218-2066. The guy I talked with gave me the website to order online. He said it was much cheaper this way. Http://www.surface-repair.com
They have repair kits for all sorts of things. If you're a DIYer, this is for you!
We are getting closer to finishing this very long remodeling project. I've changed our move in date so many times that I hate to do it now. So I won't. I'll just keep posting each bit of progress and see how soon we can get started moving in.
Wish us luck!!!
