Counter tops and drawer fronts.

Brian has been here since 8:00 this morning. I had wondered how the Formica would look. Afraid it was too dark. No. It looks great! The back splash will be the same tile as the bathroom tile. But it is going to be on point. I'm getting some of the terra cotta tiles to go with the white, beige & ???. Can't remember name of the other color.
The sink front trays are in. :-) When they get dirty I can take them out to clean them. I had wondered how I would do that.
Brian will be back in the evenings this next week to start gluing down the Formica. After that we can get the water hooked up to everything. ... Now, THAT sounds good!!!

Cool enough for a fire.

Finally, I remembered to bring one of those butane things to have a fire. :-) We are pleased! It's nice now, but it's going to be a lot better when we can sit here with all our things in place. It's just a 3-hour logs. But that is fine. It's a lot less mess than real logs/wood. We're too old and worn out to cut it and haul it home. Convenience and technology does have its advantages.

More trimming.

The arm on that machine/vehicle reaches a long way. He's trimmed to the tops of all the trees. Since our street isn't a through street, on his way out he picked up limbs with that arm and moved them out of the street.
I did add a picture of the sun. Well, it is behind the clouds. But it turned put kind of cool. Should rain later today or maybe tomorrow. We really don't need it. We're still soggy from the last rain.

Tree trimmer.

This guy has been working on trimming tree limbs hanging over roads for quite a while. Today he's here on our street. I suppose he is a subcontractor for out electric company.

Temporary desk

Well, I needed to do our tax return and pay bills. So this is it. We saw no reason to have Wildblue Internet installed at the other house, only to have it moved when we start moving down here.
It does look a mess right now, but, I promise it will look much nicer when it is finished.

Is it Spring? But it's only Feb 8th!!!

I took these pictures several days ago. This is the Elm tree in our yard. It's getting ready to dump millions of seeds on us. We have this every year. And every year I complain and swear to have the tree cut down.
The leaves fell off about a month ago. Sure hope we don't have a snowstorm. It's just to early for Spring!!!

More cabinet doors.

Brian and Melvin are putting doors on window seats and the bookcase. One piece at a time.

Bedroom storage & tall cabinet in bathroom.

With it raining off and on today, Brian came out this morning with more cabinets! They even look good without paint!!! I need to get the vacuum from the other house to start cleaning dust off everything. Clear coat on the drawers and maybe the upper parts, too.
Brian took the right bookcase out. Trimmed it and put it back in. It looks better.

Daffodils. February 1st.

I was amazed when I looked at our neighbors yard and saw their Daffodils were about to bloom. It's only Feb. 1st!!! Daffodils aren't supposed to bloom this early. Are they???
I guess I shouldn't be so astonished. It hasn't been that cold this winter. Temps haven't been below freezing very many times. About this time last year it snowed two times in two weeks.
